Large Black cardamom is often referred to as the queen of spices. It is an important spice and a powerful flavoring agent. Large Black cardamom is bigger in size as compared to Yellow/Green cardamom. It is used as a flavourant in Indian, Asian and Mediterranean cuisines. India is the largest producer of large cardamom in the world and Sikkim contributes to it significantly. Sikkim is known to produce the best quality of Large Cardamom in the world. The quality of Sikkim is superior to Arunachal Pradesh. It contains 2-3% essential oil and possesses medicinal properties. Sikkim Large Black Cardamom comes in following grades- Sikkim Super Bold, Sikkim Bold, Sikkim Medium and Sikkim Small.
